Going concern for another generation

Options are plentiful on this 348.45 hectare (more or less) dairy farm located in Galatea, Eastern Bay of Plenty. Situated on the main road, the mostly flat dairy platform is only 45 minutes away from Whakatane, with Rotorua one hour away.
Come spring, there will be 750 cows being milked. The farm can be purchased as a going concern with good experienced staff in place.
The 50 bale rotary cowshed has the ability to be extended to 60 bales and has a 500 cow capacity circular yard. The cows are kept happy with an in-shed meal feed system, with grain crusher and an automatic teat sprayer. Spring mating is a breeze with protrack drafting, an automatic heat detection system, a covered AB race with head bale, yards and also a load out race, next to the cowshed.
An ice bank easily pre cools milk to 7 degrees into the 27,000 litre capacity vat.
The new fully consented effluent system will be completed by Spring 2024. This comprises a four million litre pond with double sand trap and 60,000 litre sump.
Three centre pivot irrigators cover 120 hectares with a further 65 hectares planted in lucerne. This has created a ‘summer safe' milking platform providing consistent feed throughout the season. The resource consent expires in 2038. There are three bores on the property.
Diversified income is realised with the on-farm gravel extraction pit. This has a resource consent through to 2026 and allows the operator to extract and process gravel for sale from the Kopuriki Stream.
Surplus maize was also sold off farm this year with 560 tonne grown overall, including 7 hectares under irrigation.
A new owner could continue with surplus maize, running a line of beefies or upping the milking herd to get extra production. This along with the gravel enterprise and extra housing on the property all create diversified income.
The accommodation on the property consists of two, four bedroom homes, one close to the cowshed and the other with striking views over the entire farm. There are four other homes on site, providing both farm worker accommodation and/or rental accommodation.
Further improvements include a PTO generator to power up the cowshed if there is a power outage, a lock up workshop and powered implement shed. There are multiple sheds and barns around the farm and also a large, covered calf rearing barn.
This is a great opportunity to consolidate your farming operation, in a well sought after, highly regarded dairy farming area.
The owners are genuinely offering their life's work for sale as they are ready to retire.
The farm could be sold as a going concern with staff and stock in place.
