A Revelation of Spaces

This site although suburban is unique in that it is covered in mature trees, including mature Kowhai and Eucalypt which are home for an abundance of native birds. The following design ideas were pursued during the conception of this award winning architectural project.

A sense of discovery and delight on arrival. Simple and bold detailing in steel and weathered timber. Platform spaces opening to trees and birds. Comfortable and sun-filled spaces tailored to stress free living.

The solution and result was two-part. The major form conceived as a platform in the trees, housing the main entrance, living, kitchen and master bedroom and ensuite opening to the north and trees.

This house consists of two pavilions connected with a glazed link enhanced by outdoor water features.

The second pavilion consists of two bedrooms, family bathroom, laundry facilities and double garaging which is accessed through a sweeping treed driveway.

A home that is a rare gem with spaces that create delight in this unique setting.
