To many people think the name Broadbent is synonymous with real estate in the north. In 1965, Alan’s father established the family real estate company in Kerikeri, later expanding the business to include offices from Kaitaia to Helensville.

Alan worked with his father as a salesperson from 1973, later being joined by his two brothers. He spent a year in the Broadbent office in Kaitaia, two years as Branch Manager of the Whangarei office, and later in Kerikeri was instrumental in establishing the Bay of Islands branch of Thomson Bagley Realty Ltd which in the late 90’s became part of the Bayleys franchise.

Alan has served as Branch Manager of Bayleys Kerikeri for several years, specialising during this time in commercial and industrial investment proeprty and development projects. His recent decision to move north from Kerikeri to the Houhora area fulfils a desire to become once more part of a smaller more intimate community. He and his wife Barbara are together enjoying the challenge of setting up a new office for Bayleys in the village of Pukenui and are looking forward to becoming involved in community activities and offering their combined professional skills to anyone wanting help with real estate matters.

Alan sees this move as providing fresh opportunity for him to use his wealth of experience over a wide field. Heis able to continue his association with commercial and industrial property throughout the north, while focusing locally on the full range of residential, horticultural and other rural activity that is available in this fast developing area
