Tim CrawfordTim joined Bayleys following a career in the wine industry as regional manager for Sacred Hill and viticulturist/grower liaison for Hunter’s Wines. Originally from Southland, he attained a Bachelor of Agricultural Commerce at Lincoln College before working in Sales & Marketing for Dow Agricultural Chemicals. Prior to moving to Marlborough in 1993, he was an Account Director with Colenso Communications in Auckland, overseeing marketing and advertising for some of New Zealand’s best known companies and brands, including Fisher & Paykel, Watties, Cadbury Schweppes Hudson, Canterbury of New Zealand and Dominion Breweries. Tim and his wife Sally, who hails from north of Gisborne, chose Marlborough as the best spot in the country to raise their young family, which they are doing on their vineyard in Rapaura. Tim believes the greatest potential for New Zealand lies in tourism and adding value to primary produce, and Marlborough epitomises that. The fantastic climate, spectacular scenery and huge range of natural resources combined with the fact that Marlborough is so central make it a hard place to beat. A passion for Marlborough has motivated Tim to become active in a number of community roles. These have included coaching junior rugby, organising sponsorship for the Marlborough RFU, raising funds to preserve the ‘Edwin Fox’, member of the Marlborough Marketing & Development Board, President of Garden Marlborough, President of Arborbank, Secretary Manager of the Marlborough Club, a director of Marlborough Winegrowers, organising the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival and President of the local Lincoln Alumni Association. Experience in viticulture, a background and strong belief in the power of well targeted creative marketing, property development, negotiation skills and a broad base of local, national and international contacts make Tim a valuable member of the Bayleys team. He firmly believes that the secret of success is sound, “straight-up” service and always keeping parties in the picture! |
