Doug McLean

I have been a resident of Howick for over 43 years; attending Pakuranga College in the 1960’s where I met my wife Cathryn. I completed an apprenticeship in Photolithography, an allied trade to the printing industry, and was promoted to Customer Service Manager where I liased with advertising companies for the print media.


After leaving the printing industry I formed a successful clothing company with Cathryn, manufacturing and retailing for about 15 years. With the advent of free trade and competition from Third World countries, this was time for a change of direction.

Having moved homes a few times I always found real estate interesting so now was the time to get on the other side of the fence.


I started my Real Estate career in March 1996 with First National. I joined Bayleys in 1999 to further my career and have been successfully involved in real estate for the past 11 years.


In an industry that is service, 7 days a week, I have managed to balance precious time with my family and helping my vendors and purchasers achieve their goals.

I have genuine empathy with my clients, an easy friendly manner and a commitment to providing an excellent service. I always try to keep my clients’ best interest at heart.
