Banks in Fiji
Fiji is well represented by banking groups including the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), Bank of Baroda, Habib Bank, Colonial National Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation and Bank of Baroda.
ANZ offers ATM services in Suva, Nausori, Nadi, Nadi Airport, Lautoka, and Labasa. National Bank and Westpac offer EFTPOS services in Suva, Nausori, Sigatoka, Nadi, and Lautoka.
All groups have head offices in Suva with branches and agencies throughout Fiji.
Banking Hours in Fiji
Normal banking hours are from 9:30am to 3:00pm Monday to Thursday and to 4:00pm on Friday. All banks are closed on Public Holidays. ANZ operates a 24 hour service at Nadi International Airport’s Arrivals Concourse.
Fiji Currency
Fiji has its own currency, the Fijian dollar (F$). Four international banks operate in the islands - Australia and New Zealand Banking (ANZ), the Australian owned Westpac, Colonial Mutual and Bank of Baroda.
Opening Hours
All have branches in both Nadi and Suva (open Mon-Fri 9am to 3pm, Sat 9am to 12pm). ANZ has a branch at Nadi International airport which is open 24 hours. Local Fiji island cheques cannot be cashed outside of Fiji. Cash machines can be found in Nadi, Suva and Sigatoka and accept Visa cards.
Western Union have a money transfer outlet in Nadi Town. Major credit cards are readily accepted but travellers cheques can be cashed for about 3% more than either cash or credit cards and are also accepted at most large shops and resorts.
Banking in Fiji Outer Islands
On the outer islands, the Post Office acts as a banking system although credit cards will not be accepted.
