Cosmetics queen preens house for sale
One of New Zealand’s most successful businesswomen Suzanne Hall – founder of natural skincare brand Living Nature – has put her Northland home up for sale.
Ms Hall founded Living Nature in 1987 - a company which became one of Kerikeri’s biggest employers, exporting to four continents and earning her a New Zealand Order of Merit in 2005.
For the past 11 years Ms Hall has taken sanctuary in her 4.9 hectare estate near Kerikeri township and airport. However, she has decided to relocate to Auckland to support the ongoing success of her new company Be Intent – a corporate wellness and employee motivation tool.
Featuring 2.5 hectares of native bush, the estate features a three bedroom/one bathroom character villa, a separate 117 square metre studio, as well as a private waterfall.
The villa has a large kitchen and dining area with varnished native timber floors. Both areas have an open flow to the outside giving the owner options for entertaining, or making the most of the sun.
To the rear of the villa is a private decked area featuring an outdoor bath. Amongst the native bush are plants that have been incorporated into Ms Hall’s Living Nature products, including Kumerahou which is used to make soap. There is even a special meditation area in a tree-house made out of a large Totara tree.
Down a short track and through native trees including 400-year-old kauri, rimu and Totora, is a private waterfall and swimming hole, both protected by riparian rights.
The property is for sale through Bayleys by auction on August 26. Bayleys salesperson David Baguley said the new owner could have the option to expand or subdivide the estate.

“The home, combined with the separate and spacious studio, as well as the estate’s proximity to Kerikeri, gives it potential to be converted for alternative uses such as guest accommodation, a dance studio, a yoga retreat, or artist’s haven,” he said.
“The addition of the fully lined stand alone double garage with French doors adds further options for expansion. Preliminary work has already been carried out to investigate the potential of subdividing the estate into three properties.”
“This property has been a labour of love for Ms Hall, and has been immaculately cared for. Surrounded by stone walls and extensive planting, this property will appeal to anyone looking for a home which offers a private sanctuary in a busy world.”
