Simon was born and raised in the Central Otago town of Alexandra. On completion of his local schooling at Dunstan High School he attended Lincoln College and graduated with an Agricultural Commerce Degree in Valuation and Farm Management.

The Rural Banking and Finance Corporation provided his initial grounding in the fundamentals of property appraisal; which was followed by a four year OE. On his return in the early 1990’s he held various roles within the banking and financing industry throughout Otago and Southland and the Bay of Plenty, all related to the sales and servicing of farming clients.

Simon joined Bayleys Real Estate (Success Realty Limited) in 2002 to manage the introduction and development of the Bayleys Country Sales Team across the Bay of Plenty.

Dramatic Growth

The Bayleys team in this region has now grown to 18 sales agents extending from Whakatane on the east coast to Awakino on the west coast and specializing in all areas of country real estate from commercial farms and horticulture blocks to lifestyle blocks and lodges. A market share approaching 20% is testimony to the service principals adhered to.

Simon has great pride in the achievements to date. “Our business has been built around the showcasing of our clients’ property via innovative marketing and a strong network of quality sales agents working as a team across the wider region.”

Simon has three daughters at Aquinas College. Having a strong history in education and sport himself Simon holds great interest in his children’s schooling and sporting activities as well as maintaining his own interests through social cricket in Te Puke, corporate boxing and the odd game of golf.
