Even though there is one bedroom, the "L" shaped lounge transforms into a second bedroom space for those extra visitors or extended family who love to share your home over holidays.
Whatever the season you will enjoy returning to this retreat. In summer, drop the bags and off to the beach which is just a minute down the road. For those rainy days, a wood-burner has dual purposes, heat the soup plus keep the winter chill away. Sit on the deck and watch the tide or climb up the terraced back yard to the little cleared look out spot - ideal for watching the boats on the bay and the weather coming over the far hills.
Whether you live here all year round or are able to visit just for holidays, Huia has many options for your relaxation or family fun. Fishing from the rocks or launch the boat and explore the harbour; sand castles or swimming on the family friendly beach of Foster Bay, stroll to the Huia Food store for great coffee and the morning paper. There are bush walks and tracks for the more energetic plus the Huia Museum is a good place to lose yourself in the heritage of our bay.
