We're excited to announce Auckland's first ever Green Star supermarket will open in the new Waiata Shores development in time for Christmas 2021!

This is a $30+ million investment in this growing part of South Auckland, and is expected to create over 100 new jobs. The design, build and operation of the store has been carefully planned to meet internationally recognised Green Star certification standards and leave a lighter footprint on the planet. When Countdown Waiata Shores opens you'll see solar panels on the roof, EV chargers for customers, plenty of bike parking to reduce short car trips, and doors on fridges and freezers to save power.

The new Waiata Shores neighbourhood has been designed by Fletcher Living to have diverse housing, family-friendly planning and excellent transport connections.
