A 295 hectare, one man bull fattening unit in close proximity to the Kaikohe saleyards for those who enjoy trading. A property with scope for improvement.
295 hectare sheep and beef fattening unit 10km southwest of Kaikohe, which provides a full range of shopping, service facilities and the mid north major saleyard selling centre. Improvements comprise an older style country homestead, woolshed/covered yards and cattleyard. Approximately 2/3rds of the farm is flat to easy undulating, the balance medium hill. Punakitere River forms the northern boundary. Water is gravity fed from an adjoining property supplying the dwelling woolshed and troughs in many paddocks. There are other water sources on farm that could be utilised for supply.
The property has scope for further development by reticulating water supply to all paddocks, extending the race system and increasing internal subdivision or utilising a techno grazing system. The farm has consistently wintered 400 yearling bulls, these bulls fattened and sent off in the Autumn, early winter, with lambs also bought in for fattening. Silage is made on farm and feed during the winter, with natural volcanic rock areas used to stand cattle off during heavy weather events allowing feed conservation on the river flats.
