Prime cropping land - Buckland Farm

Buckland Farm - 1949 Buckland Rd and 1999 Buckland Road
63.7427ha (more or less) of prime cropping land located in Buckland across two titles. The contour is mainly level with some rolling pasture around the shoulders of the farm and the water course which has fenced and has riparian planting.
Currently cropping, onions, potatoes and mustard (for conditioning) and peripheral areas grazed by beef, this block of land is irrigated from two water sources.
1949 Buckland Rd has a reservoir located on the northern border off the Tutuanui Stream which has a surface take consent lodged for 500 cubic meters per day which is fed in to a main water line.
1999 Buckland Rd has a 8 inch bore consented to take 2,400 cubic meters of water per day which feeds that main line and is set up for both pivot irrigation and water guns connected to hydrants to reach across 85% of the farm. Total annual water take that is consented for this farm is approx 290,000 cubic meters per annum (this includes the lodged surface take consent volume of 50,000 cubic meters per annum).
The soils are volcanic ash over Patumahoe clay/loam on the northern plateau of the farm and sandy loam over the lower southern half of the farm. Peripheral parts of the farm are grazed by stock with approx 80 of the total property irrigated.
Building infrastructure includes a two half round barns for machinery or hay storage.
This property is party of a wider portfolio being released to the market from TA Reynolds Limited. The land has been well looked after and maintained and offers a very credible average cropping rate of 60 tonnes per ha for both potatoes and onions.
The family have put in plenty of hard work over the last 50 years and it is now time for them to take a step back and offer this valuable land holding to the next custodians of this prime cropping land.
