Strategically Located Cropping land

McMiken Block - 470 Buckland Road, Harrisville

23.2744ha (more or less) of New Zealand's finest cropping land with an excellent water supply, approx 1,260sqm of shedding and located close to the cropping hub of Pukekohe and near Auckland's southern motorway.

Currently cropping, onions, potatoes and mustard (for conditioning) with marginal areas grazing, beef, this block of land is irrigated from two reliable water sources.

A 6 inch bore is consented for 1,600cubic meters take per day from the Waitemata aquifer (160,000 cubic meters per annum) this is supported by a small bore consented on the southern boundary which feeds a natural water reservoir with 250 cubic meters per day. A consent is lodged for further surface take. The main water line is powered by a 37kw Variable Speed Drive pump.

The soils are volcanic ash over Patumahoe clay/loam and the farms elevation and aspect have proven to be low frost risk and an excellent location for the 4 sheds on the property to store and dry onions.

The location, topography and nearby gas gate would make this property a perfect location for development of glasshouses or as a transport hub.

The four sheds that make up the 1,260sqm of shedding is a combination of onion storage and drying sheds, an ex-packing shed and a secure shed suited to storing plant & equipment.

This property is part of a wider portfolio being released to the market from TA Reynolds Limited. The land has been well looked after and maintained and offers a very credible average cropping rate of 60 tonnes per ha for both potatoes and onions.

The family have put in plenty of hard work over the last 50 years and it is now time for them to take a step back and offer this valuable land holding to the next custodians of this prime cropping land.
