CLASSIC KIWI BACH

Sandbach has been a sanctuary to the current owners for the last 10 years but it's now time for new owners to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that this stunning beachside location offers. Take a step back in time and unwind at the end of Ohiwa Harbour Road, a short drive from Opotiki, Ohope and Whakatane, in this genuine Kiwi Bach, ready for your family to move in for Christmas. There is a master bedroom plus two other bedrooms located off a central passage. At the end of the passage the large rumpus room is complete with a slate billiard table - this is a space big enough to accommodate more guests and in fact the current owners have a set of bunks in there now! The kitchen is well equipped to cater for your needs and leads to the dining area within. The living area (you can imagine the fun had here!) opens out to the front lawn; perfect for all year round catering, games and tents. The shed proves adequate for storing the boat and the toys. Once outside the harbour waters are only meters away and the beach access next door. A short walk has you on the sparsely populated white sands of Ohiwa Beach. Launch the boat and drop the nets ready to catch fresh flounder or head out over the bar and get in some serious fishing. Ohiwa is located a short 10 minute drive from the township of Opotiki and 20 minutes from Ohope and is a fantastic holiday spot. Ohiwa sits in the spectacular Eastern Bay of Plenty of New Zealand on the East Coast of the North Island right beside the Pacific Ocean. These warm waters are world-famous for incredible deep sea fishing and marine sports. You are an hour and as half's drive from Rotorua and Tauranga and 30 minutes' drive away to Whakatane which is recorded as one of the three sunniest cities in New Zealand. It has one of the countries warmest climates with mild winters and long hot summers. Activities in the area include jet boating, rafting, dolphin watching, game fishing, bush walks, horse treks, 4x4 tours, hunting trips, helicopter flights or simply relaxing on the beautiful beaches. For those with an interest in the outdoors, the rugged Urewera National Park, the largest protected native forest in the North Island, provides tramping, trout fishing and deer hunting. The Eastern Bay of Plenty is one of the most diversely beautiful areas in New Zealand. Sandy beaches are predominant along the 54 kilometres of coastline that stretches from Ohiwa to Otamarakau west of here. Central areas include fertile lowlands and farming areas on the Rangitaiki Plains through to Murupara. Te Urewera National Park in the south, which makes 41% of the district, is protected native forest and is home to a rich array of flora and fauna. The small Coastal area enjoys thriving agricultural and horticulture industry with the newly appointed Whakatohea mussel farm now in operation. It has a strong community with an excellent variety of sporting and cultural clubs, service organisations and a full range of services and shopping, including a large modern supermarket. Make the most of this summer and bring the family here for Christmas. Our vendor has committed elsewhere and Sandbach must now be sold.
