Wangapeka Family Dairy, a 187-hectare dairy farm and business, is located at the top of the South Island, on the edge of beautiful Kahurangi National Park. The great climate of New Zealand's sunniest region means lush pastures and a low-stress environment for its cows known for producing super-fresh tasty wholesome milk and Artisan Cheeses. With the focus on herd health and welfare and enriching their pastures, all their fertilisers are natural rock-no phosphates or nitrates-and no herbicides or pesticides. The A2 Jersey, Friesian-cross and Normandy cows in the herd are carefully chosen for the quality of their milk. Their health and welfare are the number-one concern. Minimal processing means that the milk and cheeses are as close to 'natural' as they can be.
The land area has a variable contour, comprising of strong pastures on river flats, terraces and easy hill country. There is some steep bush and a pine plantation.
There is a three-bedroom principal residence, cheese factory, cow shed, implement sheds, hay sheds, storage shed and shearing shed.
Water is sourced from well, located down by the river. Farm is currently used solely to supply milk to produce products for the Wangapeka Cheese business, which is currently on hold however could be converted back to straight dairy where you could run approximately 280 cows for milk production.
