27 mins drive from Gore and a similar distance from Invercargill, I found this glorious and quaint church. The church is 220m² plus the hall which in good condition on 2023m² of pure Southland. No immediate neighbours to speak of. I wandered into the yard and was intrigued with what was to be seen. The church in working order built in 1923, very tidy inside and has been used recently for a wedding. I opened the door to the porch and instantly the push carpet guided my thoughts to the alter past the pews, where there were two doors to the vestry. I could almost hear the congregation and thought what a wonderful venue for events, concerts, gatherings, it could be converted to accommodation for those who just wanted to stay in pure NZ, the buildings are surrounded by native trees and birds. The hall built in the 1960's is in good order and features wooden floors a kitchen, storeroom, hall, a stage with storage underneath, two toilets and a cloakroom. The options are endless. It is getting harder to find a property to escape to, a weekend getaway or a permanent home, go fishing, go mountain biking, go for a picnic and in less than an hour to the airport that is affordable. This may be just the opportunity your waiting for.
