A rarely available wintering unit in this location offers the opportunity to manage the wintering and calving of your cows while also producing supplementary feed.
The land, primarily composed of sandy soils, is subdivided into 11 paddocks, each with troughs. Currently, power and water are supplied from the neighboring property based on a gentleman's agreement. Additionally, there is a spring water supply on farm which pumps to the water tank that gravity feeds to troughs.
The vendors typically produce 1,000 to 1,200 bales of baleage on the farm each year and winter 250 cows starting in mid-June, with an additional 250 cows arriving by mid-July. All cows are calved on the property before being transported back to the vendors' dairy unit, located nearby. After calving, the property is then utilized for growing supplementary feed for the following winter.
For a settlement in June 2025, the vendors will make available 1,000 bales of baleage as part of the sale.
