Description

'Albury Inn'

A classic Kiwi country pub dating back to the 1870s is up for sale after the vendors have successfully run the family business for the last 9 years. The 'Albury Inn' was officially opened on the evening of 23 December 1879 as the 'Railway Hotel' by publican George Palmer.

Built from newly painted weatherboard, the pub has recently just had a brand new iron roof installed. Accommodation is provided upstairs by three single bedrooms and three double bedrooms including the owners private bedroom, lounge and ensuite. The Inn consists of three bathrooms across two levels with overnight guests sharing an upstairs lounge and bathrooms, heating is provided by a Contessa log burner and two heat pumps. Water is supplied via five units of the Downlands Water Supply.

The Inn is currently operated three days a week and is well known for its outstanding food, and hospitality with dining room and bar located downstairs with a chef's kitchen and storage rooms close by. The pub is very convenient for punters to stop by being on the main Albury-Fairlie Road, and with an outdoor bar/garden area which is great for summer months.

The 'Albury Inn' building comes with 6,069sqm (more or less) of flat land. The Inn is now one of a small group of New Zealand hotels that were built before 1880, and is now the last weatherboard pub left in South Canterbury.

The vendor is registered for GST, this property will be sold plus GST (if any).
