This 128 hectare dairy unit, north of Huntly on Te Ohaki Road, has the soils and contour for horticultural cropping or continue dairying.

The location, midway between Hamilton and Auckland, plus an adjacent 19 hectares (approximately) of lease make for a good sized unit.

The 26 aside dairy works well with 340 cows currently milked and a three year production average of 121,248 milk solids. Annually 400 wrapped bales are made on farm with 160 tonne of maize purchased plus 239 tonne of palm kernel last season.

A good race system runs out to all 45 paddocks with the fencing being a mix of permanent on the boundaries and mostly 3-4 wire electric internally.

Water for the farm and dairy shed is sourced from the Waikato River with a pump extracting from the river to manacons and pressure fed around the farm through 40mm alkathene mainlines and 20-25mm laterals. The direct access to the Waikato River for water is definitely a huge bonus.

The contour of the farm is 75% flat with the balance gentle rolling and soil type is a mix of silty loam and clay loam on rolling country.

The support buildings include a large implement/calf shed plus a number of storage sheds. A 30 tonne block fert/PK bin is adjacent to the implement shed.

The effluent is pumped around the farm and spread with a travelling irrigator. Variation 6 is being processed (application is for 400 cows at 70 litres).

The property has three very good dwellings with the main brick clad home (2005) being spacious with three bedrooms, ensuite and office. Aluminium joinery, a log fire plus a double garage complete this tidy package. The second home (new Keith Hay) has three bedrooms, open plan living, is in excellent order and yet to be lived in. A third weatherboard home is of good size and is structurally sound. All houses have rain water as the domestic supply.

Te Ohaki Road is recognised as a premium address in the area, with fertile soils with a number of horticultural properties in close proximity, and a great location with the Huntly Golf Course nearby and an easy commute north to Auckland and south to Hamilton.
