An organic dairy operation located at 427 Kopuku Road in Maramarua, in the northern Waikato, has been placed on the market for sale.
The 54-hectare farm is fully self contained with everything grown and grazed on-site using cultural, biological and mechanical methods that are sustainable, humane and non-polluting, said Karl Davis of Bayleys Hamilton.
“This is an organically certified dairy farm, which is committed to environmentally sound management. It has developed QA systems to meet the USDA National Organic Programme,” he said.
The farm is currently milking 84 cows, with production for 2013/14 at 20,548kgMS. In the previous year stock produced 20,998kgMS.
Bore water and a deep well pump on site provide water sources to the property. The surface HP pump was replaced in 2013. The property is bounded by post batten fencing. Internal fencing is a combination of post and batten with two wire electric.
Soil comprises Waerenga clay and silt loams. Supplements made on the farm during 2013/14 included, 4.84ha silage, 2.15ha greenfed maize and 304 hay bales.
Three dwellings on the property – a four-bedroom, three-bedroom and two-bedroom home – provide ample accommodation. The main residence, which is situated back from the road, features a separate kitchen, lounge, and dining, flowing into an outdoor entertainment area. The main home just over 10 years old, the two older houses are a project for the new owners said Mr Davis.
The property is made up of two thirds flat land to rolling and one third rolling, in an idyllic setting with Maramarua State Forest as its backdrop and close to
diverse lifestyle attractions.
“This is a huge recreational bonus, offering multiple opportunities for outdoor pursuits including golf, hunting, equestrian, tramping, fishing and trail biking.”
Maramarua Golf Course, Maramarua Hunt Club and State Highway two are minutes away.
The property is for sale via an auction process on April 30. View online at www.bayleys.co.nz/89916
