About Alan

Alan Johnston, or A.J. as he’s often referred to, is a foundation member of Bayleys Taranaki’s commercial and industrial sales team.

Now in his seventh year with the respected Bayleys brand, Alan has clocked up a reputation for achieving outstanding results for his clients and prides himself on providing transparent service to vendors, purchasers, landlords and tenants.

Alan has the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people from all walks of life and this easy rapport he establishes allows him to build trusted working relationships with everyone he comes into contact with.

Underpinned by reliable, professional and timely management and administrative support from the Bayleys Taranaki office, Alan works in a business team with colleague Iain Taylor, an experienced agent with a 12-year track record in real estate.

The combination of Alan and Iain working in tandem ensures a well-rounded and comprehensive service for all of their clients across the commercial, retail and industrial sales and leasing spectrum

Alan came to real estate on the back of a long and successful career in the corporate world, and as a business owner. He was the company accountant for part of the Fletcher Challenge Group and has astute financial and business skills which allow him to relate to the challenges faced by his clients.

A personal highlight in his real estate career was brokering the sale of the PWC building, a multimillion dollar transaction that was testament to Alan’s tenacity, professionalism and patience.

Alan is well-entrenched in his local community and is currently the treasurer of the Waitara Squash Club. As the owner of a farmlet, there is always physical work to be done around home, but Alan also finds time for a regular game of squash and some surfcasting along the Taranaki coast.
