Ben is highly qualified across a number of different areas. He’s got a mechanical engineering degree and has worked in the heavy industry and food processing sectors, in New Zealand and around the world, for over ten years. Following that, he owned and managed a set of businesses for six years, including an industrial manufacturing company, a distribution company and a retail chain. It was when dealing with commercial real estate brokers as a client he knew he could do it better, which led to Ben entering the commercial real estate industry.
Ben’s previous experience has provided him with a unique understanding of business operation and management across multiple sectors, as well as the opportunity to experience the commercial real estate business from the other side through leasing, purchasing and selling businesses. The outcome is that Ben knows how to analysis the industry each of his real estate clients works in, as well as understanding their unique business situation, to come up with the perfect solution. Data driven analysis of the market means Ben sees things before they arrive. This foresight extends to maintaining meaningful relationships with investors and vendors giving Ben – and his clients - an edge that others don't have.
Ben knows commercial real estate relies heavily on long-term relationships and he believes it is critical to establish lasting connections with his clients in order to truly understand what they are trying to accomplish and how to best assist them as their business changes and grows over the years. He brings together his traits of analysis and being highly detail oriented with a truly personable approach.
In his spare time Ben enjoys fitness, boating, fishing and motorsport having raced carts, mini 7’s and GT’s at a competitive level for over 15 years. Ben’s favourite place to unwind with family is Mangawhai.
Ben specialises in the Rodney region, particularly the Hibiscus Coast, which includes Silverdale, Orewa and Whangaparaoa. He’s lived and worked on the Hibiscus Coast for many years and has extensive understanding of the region's commercial properties, businesses and residents.
