At Bayleys Canterbury, we’ve teamed up with many organisations who share our values and make a difference in our communities around Canterbury and New Zealand.

We consider it part of our professional responsibility to give back to the community, and to contribute to its vibrancy.

We are proud to have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to the community as the 2020 REINZ Awards Winner ‘Excellence in the Community – Medium’ across all real estate brands.

And we are chuffed to be back-to-back winners of Bayleys National ‘Big on Community’ Award.

Sponsorship & Community

Partnering with the best

Christchurch City Mission

Major Business Partner

As their Major Business Partner, we’re committed to giving back to the community we live and work in, while helping to inspire positive change and thriving communities.

The Mission runs 13 vital services, including an emergency foodbank, emergency night shelters, addiction counselling and their Back to School programme. They offer a pathway forward paved with fresh hope.

Bringing Christchurch business leaders together for the past two years, CEOs from Christchurch’s biggest businesses have rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the kitchen as part of Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose to raise funds for the City Mission’s Back to School Programme.

The programme helps struggling families meet school costs for uniforms, shoes, and stationery. We want every child in Canterbury to have the tools they need to go to school with confidence, and get the best possible start in life.

The Crusaders

Official Community Partner

Rugby unites our community, brings joy, and inspires our children. We are delighted to be involved as the Official Community Partner to the Crusaders, as we believe both of our organisations show the same commitment to excellence, innovation and community involvement. We are also mindful of the importance of the Crusaders to the people of Canterbury, and if our financial commitment to the team can in any way help with their on-field performances, then we take huge pride playing our small part in making that magic happen.

Our strength as a brand comes from caring about our people, our customers, our partners and our community. Using the powerful voice of the Crusaders enables us to take a bold, brave and collaborative approach to the work we do in our community, helping build a stronger community for anyone who calls Canterbury home.

We are also delighted to be the horse power behind the Bayleys Crusaders Horses. What’s not to love about the cheers and smiles that erupt on faces, providing a very Canterbury pre-match entertainment before home games.

Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū

Strategic Partner

If it benefits the people of Canterbury and Aotearoa, we’re all for it.

We are delighted to partner with Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū and take the naming rights of the Bayleys Knight Frank Foyer.

An inspiring destination which shares our passion for art and education, Christchurch Art Gallery delivers a vibrant programme of art-related social and cultural events to the people of Canterbury.

Art brings people together physically through its capacity to tell a story, so it is a proud moment for us seeing the people of Canterbury enjoying art, culture and togetherness in the iconic Bayleys Knight Frank Foyer.

Proud, elegant and taking its place among New Zealand’s premium galleries, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū offers something for everyone.

Bring What You Can

Food poverty is all too common. Some families in Canterbury are so close to the edge, that a small, unexpected bill leaves their cupboards empty.

In May, we collected cans for the Christchurch City Mission food bank. The Crusaders joined us, using their powerful voice to encourage Cantabrians to ‘Bring What You Can’ to help with food poverty in Christchurch.

Bring What You Can was launched at the Crusaders versus Brumbies match at Orangetheory Stadium.

Through our partnership with the Crusaders, we were also able to host the curtain raiser at the Crusaders versus Brumbies match between St Thomas of Canterbury College First XV and Shirley Boys’ High School First XV.

Offering 2,000 tickets to local secondary schools, ensured friends and family a place in the stands to watch our future Crusaders play. The highly coveted game was broadcast live on Sky Sport.

As a result of our Bring What You Can campaign, donations flooded into our offices every day in May, and we were able to fill the City Mission’s foodbank for the winter months ahead.

Surfing for Farmers

Helping farmers take care of their mental health is important, that’s why Bayleys are proud to be founding partners of Surfing for Farmers, bringing farmers together, off the farm and into the surf to enhance mana and well-being.

One night each week over summer, we trade the paddock for the beach, swapping swanndris for surfboards on beaches around Canterbury. Surfing for Farmers programme runs for approximately 13 weeks from December.

Farmers are provided with surfing gear (wetsuits, surfboards), free lessons and a free barbeque where participants can swap surfing stories and have a general catch-up.

No need to book, just turn up for a friendly, welcomed experience, and a beer and yarn after the surf.
