John Freeman is a Director of Valuation Services for Bayleys Valuations Limited, based in the Bayleys Building in Wellington’s CBD. John conjointly started the valuation service for Bayleys in February 2010, having previously been a Director with CB Richard Ellis in Wellington for a period of some 7 years. Prior to that John worked in New Zealand and London for various major valuation firms. Since 1982 he has lived in New Zealand creating and working for several leading valuation practices.

Clients John regularly works for include Wellington Electricity, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Whitireia New Zealand, Precinct Property Holdings Limited, Wellington International Airport Limited, Augusta Funds Management Limited, Victoria University, Horizon Resources Limited, Anaro Group and Robt. Jones Holdings Limited.

John has been valuing Plant and Machinery globally since commencing as a trainee Valuer in 1973 in London. His areas of expertise have been varied and include insurance, financial reporting and sale valuations. He now tends to specialise in asset tax depreciation issues for purchasers and vendors of commercial, retail, industrial, tourism and leisure properties and associated assets.

John created and ran a major business unit of the overall valuation division. John specialised in componentisation of building fitout assets within government organisation properties.
