About the area
Omaha Beach is located just an hour's drive north of Auckland and 15 minutes east of Warkworth Township. Omaha is on the edge of ‘Matakana Wine Country’ and on the doorstep of Goat Island Marine Reserve, Pakiri Beach and Tawharanui Regional Park.
Omaha dishes up a pristine beach with clear waters and uninterrupted gulf and island views. The beach is monitored by lifeguards and is popular with surfers, windsurfers, water-skiers and those who love to fish and dive. An all-tide harbour provides safe swimming for children and an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, bowling greens, playgrounds and walking tracks complete the picture of an idyllic location.
Minutes away are cafes, restaurants, vineyards, a farmers’ market and Matakana Township. While Omaha Beach started as a beach resort, more than 200 families now call it their permanent home. It’s easy to see why!
