Graham Barton is a director with Bayleys Valuations and Advisory based in the Auckland office. He is a registered plant and equipment valuer with 36 years’ experience throughout New Zealand and internationally.

Graham specialises in market valuations for tax depreciation and accounting purposes, lending security, insurance valuations, insolvency/liquidation and litigation purposes. He has provided advice to Government Departments and many of New Zealand’s large corporate organisations concerning depreciation and asset valuation matters.

Graham graduated from the University of Auckland, with a Bachelor of Property and gained registration with the New Zealand Institute of Plant and Machinery Valuers in 1993 (which later merged into the Property Institute of New Zealand [PINZ]). He started his professional career as a graduate with Darroch & Co Ltd, then moved to Ernst & Young, JLL then Bayleys.

Graham lectured on plant and machinery valuations at Auckland University and served on the PINZ/New Zealand Institute of Valuers Valuation Standards Board and other committees for 22 years, presenting over 40 papers at CPD education events. PINZ awarded him a Fellowship in 2004 and Life Membership in 2025. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is recognised as a panel valuer by the major banks in New Zealand.
