Learning people’s stories and making lifelong connections is what Ken Metekingi most loves about being a real estate agent. Every house is different and tells a certain story too and the prospect of coming across those untold stories is what makes Ken so passionate about real estate.
His people-centric approach has been the basis for an extremely successful career, which includes being in the Top 10% of agents nationwide. Achieving premium prices for his clients’ properties, assisting them to make the best personal choices and decisions along the way is a contributing factor as to why Ken has selected Bayleys as his agency of choice: a family oriented business, which always puts people first and supports local charities where possible such as the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Ken came to real estate many years ago from an interesting background as an International Netball Umpire (of which there are only 40 worldwide) that has seen him involved with netball across New Zealand and the world. The high performance aspect of sport shares very similar traits needed to become successful in real estate: hard work, determination and drive. His obvious people skills have also translated well to property as Ken has an innate ability to connect with all types and always brings out the best in them.
In his spare time Ken is still heavily involved in sports as a board member for Netball Manawatu and an on-going sponsor of Netball Manawatu and Manawatu Cricket. He is also dad to a young son, enjoys spending time on the golf course and is looking into taking helicopter lessons to broaden his skillset.
Ken’s competitive and professional nature compliments the high performing team he is part of that includes Bayleys agents Whetu na Nagara and Mark Sampson (known at Team Ken, Whetu & Mark). This means that Ken’s clients benefit from an incredible amount of expertise from three highly experienced agents, essentially getting three for the price of one with the same objective: to achieve the BEST price for their property from the BEST buyer every time.
