When buying a rural property, you need to know you’re dealing with someone who walks the talk and understands the mechanics and business of farming life. Few people are better suited to working in lifestyle or rural block sales than Kirsten Popplewell who’s had a lifetime of embracing everything country.
Kirsten has worked on sheep and beef farms as a shepherd, a manager, stud master and later as a share-farmer (sheep and beef) and also in a farming partnership. She was the first recipient of the NZ Angus Cattle Association scholarship to work in the USA back in 1993.
Kirsten is equally comfortable dusting off the dirt to focus on the more hands-off aspects of the industry. She has worked in quality control and training within the dairy industry, owned a working-dog food franchise and more latterly was a consultant for an equine and ruminant feed company where she has serviced the East Coast of the North Island for the past four years. On a voluntary level, Kirsten has chaired a local school board and is a past secretary of a Wanganui dog trial club. She is currently a committee member for a local sporting body whilst being a well-regarded and much-liked member of the community.
Kirsten’s interests are not surprisingly … country! Equestrian sports notably hunting (both in the field and as a whip), deer stalking and dog trials are all part of this country girl’s pastimes. She has two teenage sons, one studying at Otago University, the younger has, very proudly, begun his career in agriculture with a junior shepherd’s role on a Wairarapa station.
Throughout, Kirsten has built an extensive network of contacts in the New Zealand farming community, but predominantly on the East Coast of the North Island, making her, as a licenced real salesperson well-poised to sell your property or find you the property of your dreams.
Kirsten is a genuine person with a great sense of humour. She relates well to people from a variety of backgrounds and consequently people are comfortable around her. You will find Kirsten, as others have, to be honest, hardworking and reliable.
Kirsten is pleased to partner with Bayleys, a brand she feels is synonymous with the rural sector enjoying solid partnerships with rural bankers and other contributing professionals.
