There is more to 23 Barry Avenue than you might expect just by looking from the street. That has been one of the consistent reactions from buyers who have walked through during the campaign - surprise at just how much house is here, and how well it presents.
Nine years ago, our owners discovered the same thing. Looking for their first home, they had originally hoped to buy in Queenstown, but the numbers simply didn't work. They widened their search to Cromwell, came to see 23 Barry Avenue - and stopped looking. It was the first and only house they viewed.
There was room for flatmates to help make the mortgage work, plenty of space to live, and a large garden to enjoy through the Central Otago summers. Over time they made it their own, including creating the outdoor BBQ kitchen. Eventually life took them to Christchurch and 23 Barry became an investment property.
Now another venture needs the capital and, after nine years of ownership, it is time for someone else to take it on.
