Atua station has been tightly held under the same family ownership since the late 1800s.

Located in the Central Hawkes Bay District, Atua station is off Elsthorpe Road, 6km along Atua Road which is approximately 30 minutes south of Havelock North, 25 minutes east of Waipawa and within 15 minutes of the popular and picturesque, Kairakau beach.

Elsthorpe Primary School offers education up to year 8 (form two) and the school bus service passes by the property gate.

Secondary school options are available in Havelock North and Waipukurau also with bus services nearby.
