Mark Coffey

Residential Sales

Mark was previously a director and owner of the Tommy’s Hutt Valley franchise, a company that he founded with his father in 2000. After selling the business to Bayleys in 2023, Mark continued working as a salesperson with Bayleys. Having worked in the Hutt for so long, Mark offers valuable in-depth experience of the market over numerous property cycles and conditions.

Listening is the first step to understanding. Mark focuses on helping his clients by providing sound market advice as to the most appropriate methods of marketing. Prior to real estate, Mark worked in engineering for nearly 20 years as a toolmaker. While seemingly unrelated to real estate, these skills have transitioned incredibly well and given him a systematic approach to problem solving.

Mark’s qualifications include AREINZ, a Diploma in Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree. Also, a professional company director with several different past and present director roles including past director of REINZ (Real Estate Institute of NZ).

Having a personal interest in property, Mark has owned residential investment property over many years starting prior to his real estate career. This grass roots experience as an investor/buyer, meaning he knows both sides of the equation and gives him real insight into the needs of Bayleys clients. He aims to make the process stress free and enjoyable for all involved, keeping clients fully informed every step of the way.

Mark is proudly local. He lives in Lower Hutt with his wife Michelle and has three now adult children. In his spare time, Mark enjoys restoring classic cars and is a member of a local Hutt Valley Hot Rod Club. Other interests include triathlon and multi sports to keep fit. He has participated in numerous half marathons, full marathons, full Ironman triathlons, 70.3 triathlons and Coast to Coast events. Mark has also made the NZ age group team competing in triathlon world championship events.

Mark has a reputation hard earned over 25 years in the real estate industry and would love to assist you with your real estate needs.

“We are most appreciative of the help we received from Mark Coffey, with the sale of our property. He kept us to date with the play, and went to considerable trouble to assist both is and the purchaser. He was always pleasant to deal with, and we felt more like friends than clients. I would be pleased to recommend him to anyone seeking the service of a real estate sales person.”
