It was a natural move for Matt Bayley to join the family real estate firm once he’d graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Property degree.
Having been brought up in a forward-thinking real estate environment, Matt is the third generation of the Bayley family to make property a career and he is now a key player in Bayleys’ Auckland Central city fringe team.
For the last seven years, Matt has worked in various capacities at Bayleys including with the research and marketing teams, and in commercial and industrial sales and leasing in Mount Wellington and Penrose.
”Working in the ‘real world’ of property while studying for my qualifications has given me a great platform to build on and has added realism to the academic side of real estate. Being part of a respected commercial sales team means that I can leverage off the knowledge and experience of my colleagues while bringing a fresh and energetic approach to the table,” says Matt.
Teaming up with top performing sales consultants Cameron Melhuish and Alan Haydock, Matt has been focusing on building databases of active investors, developers and those looking for add-value commercial real estate properties to add to their portfolios. Regular and relevant communication with these identified investors is resulting in numerous completed deals and the active database continues to grow.
“We have had a lot of success lately with sales of residential flats to people on our investor databases selling six complexes all in excess of $1 million in recent months and this is an area of the market that I will continue to pro-actively target to meet an increasing demand,” says Matt.
Well aware that a successful real estate career comes on the back of hard work, solid working relationships with clients, a broad knowledge of the market and strong negotiating skills, Matt is honing his craft within the competitive and fast-paced Bayleys environment where real estate is seen as a profession rather than a job.
“I am in real estate for the long term and I want the relationships I develop with my clients to be on-going and value-added.
