A true man of the land, Neville Jacques brings depth, drive and decades of hands-on experience to the rural real estate scene. Born and raised in Auckland, Neville’s journey led him to Matamata in 2006 - where his passion for the land and people found its perfect home.
Neville’s career has taken many practical and hardworking turns - from dry stock farming and international sheep shearing, to running his own sawmill and managing his deer farm in South Auckland. These early experiences not only taught him the value of perseverance but also grounded him in the realities of rural life.
Later, as the owner of a successful painting and decorating business for 15 years, Neville built trusted relationships and developed a keen eye for property potential - skills that now serve him well in real estate.
Since joining Bayleys in 2008, Neville has become a respected name in the Bayleys Waikato country team. His natural affinity for rural property, paired with a no-nonsense approach and genuine enthusiasm, has consistently placed him among Bayleys' top country salespeople nationwide. Neville’s results speak volumes - but it’s his integrity and dedication that truly set him apart.
Away from real estate, Neville is a man of many talents. A passionate enthusiast for getting away in his boat or all things creative. Whether it’s pottery, woodworking his own furniture or gardening, being an active relaxer he always has some project on the go.
Neville understands that selling rural property is more than just a transaction - it’s about legacy, land and lifestyle. He takes pride in guiding clients through the process with clarity and care, helping them achieve outcomes they can feel good about.
Whether it’s through his passion for smart marketing or his unwavering work ethic, Neville continues to deliver service that’s as solid as the ground he stands on.

Neville joined Mike Fraser-Jones in 2023 as a business partner and is thrilled to share the opportunity to give back to the local community. Together, they actively support several community initiatives across the Matamata-Piako District. A highlight of their efforts is the annual Race Day event at the Te Aroha Racecourse, featuring a Charity Auction with items generously donated by like-minded local businesses.
In 2024, the team raised over $18,000 at the Charity Auction, with proceeds supporting the foodbanks in Morrinsville, Te Aroha, and Matamata. These funds provide crucial food assistance to families during the busy holiday season. Following the event, the team visited the foodbanks to witness firsthand the incredible work being done and the positive impact of these contributions.
Neville, Mike, Staci, and Katrina are committed to supporting and strengthening their local community, ensuring that the contributions from these initiatives make a tangible impact on the lives of those who need it most.
There are several methods of selling property in New Zealand. It is important that you understand the process for the property you are selling.
Auction
Auctions are a public process where a property is sold to the highest bidder at a level pre-determined by you, the seller.
Tender
Usually set over a specific four-or-five week timeframe, the tender process leverages the timeframe element to invite buyers to submit a formal offer. After this, you can negotiate the terms of the sale with your preferred purchaser.
Expressions of interest
Expressions of interest invite all offers from interested parties, allowing flexibility and the option to choose who you want to negotiate with.
By negotiation
Properties offered for sale by negotiation leave value to be determined by the market. This is where the advice and experience of your qualified Bayleys salesperson can assist in determining where you see value for the property and are comfortable accepting an offer. Sales by negotiation are generally open-ended, with the absence of time pressure on both buyers and sellers.
