Impressive sales portfolio and marketing savvy earn industry recognition for Bayleys Real Estate

A portfolio of more than $3 billion in commercial sales and leasing transactions has earned leading New Zealand real estate agency Bayleys an international award for its outstanding achievements.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) presented Bayleys with the accolade of Commercial Team of the Year at the organisation’s 2017 awards evening held in Auckland last week. RICS is the world's leading professional body for administering qualifications and standards in the real estate/land/property and construction sector - with more than 125,000 accredited members worldwide.

RICS managing director for Oceania, Stephen Albin, said a fast-growing property market had forced a major step change in performance of firms and professionals – and Bayleys was at the head of that in the commercial property sector.

“These awards recognise outstanding individual contributions to the built environment. As a global business, RICS is responsible for raising standards in the built environment and these awards are a critical step in that process,” Mr Albin said.

He said the judging panel “noted a proud reputation as a commercial firm founded in family values, based in a corporate environment that demands integrity, excellence and results from staff.”

National director for Bayleys commercial, John Church, said: “This is a great accolade for our commercial real estate business which operates in a fiercely competitive sector of the real estate market.”

“Bayleys’ commercial brokerage business comprises more than 200 salespeople nationally, who last financial year successfully concluded more than $3 billion in commercial sales and lease transactions across some 2,300 deals,” Mr Church added.

“Bayleys’ loyal customers are at the heart of our business. The recognition of this award helps motivate our teams throughout the country to continue to provide an ever-improving service in what is becoming a rapidly changing market this year.”

Mr Church said Bayleys had considerably grown the breadth of its already extensive marketing reach over the past year – including increasing the frequency of its listing magazines Total Property and Workplace, and their distribution base among specific sectors, which had driven more traffic through digital platforms and social media.

“The marketing team at Bayleys is cognisant that marketing avenues are constantly evolving with technological changes, and our entry into the RICS awards reflected this,” he said.
