Rex joins Bayleys with 28 years’ experience in the farming sector throughout New Zealand, culminating in the last 16 years in the Southland dairy industry.
Bought up on a sheep and beef farm, Rex discovered early that his passion was farming and it was where his future lay.
As a teenager and following in his father’s footsteps he chose shearing and stock trading as the tools to obtaining his goal of land ownership.
After shearing in the King Country, Australia & South Auckland he made the decision that the Dairy Industry had a more defined pathway to farm ownership.
Partnered with wife Roslynne, they have progressed from sharemilking to farm ownership, while providing a good foundation for growing a strong family unit.
Along the journey they were named 2004 Southland Sharemilkers of the Year, with Rex also invited to spend four years on the NZ Dairy Industry Awards executive.
Locally Rex has been a past Chairperson of the Limehills School Board of Trustees & a founding member of the Central Southland College Sports Council. He has had various local dairy industry roles as well.
A constant for Rex’s working life has been to maintain strong work ethic, with attention to detail, combined with an ability to communicate and negotiate with anybody. These are skills he will continue to use with real estate.
Rex’s decision to join the Bayleys Southland team is based around the professional local personnel and the larger team that supports a strong national Real Estate brand with international reach.
He will combine this with his trustworthy, no nonsense approach, while using his farming expertise, knowledge & determination to succeed.
Rex will provide a sales service that will help his Southland rural clients to obtain the best possible Real Estate outcomes.
