Bought up on a sheep and beef farm, Rex discovered early that his passion was farming and it was where his future lay. After shearing in the King Country, Australia & South Auckland he made the decision that the Dairy Industry had a more defined pathway to farm ownership.
Partnered with wife Roslynne, they progressed through the industry to achieve this, while providing a good base for growing a strong family unit with their children. Along with involvement in the NZ Dairy Industry Awards, School Board of Trustees & College Sports Councils, Rex has developed a range of skills that are well suited to real estate.
Specialising in rural/lifestyle property since joining Bayleys two years ago, Rex has used his vast experience as a farmer, along with his understanding of real estate to gain positive results for his clients.
Rex believes real estate is predominately about people, with his main focus being to develop trust to create professional relationships with his clients that ultimately achieve results that are above their expectations. He believes his role is not just about marketing, but also about solving problems or issues that arise, whether it be for buyers or sellers. With this in mind he thinks that with an ever changing market it is essential to constantly try and find new solutions for his clients. Just trying the same approach will inevitably achieve the same results.
His decision to join the Bayleys Southland team was based around aligning with a strong national brand that has international reach.
A constant for Rex’s working life has been to maintain strong work ethic, with attention to detail, combined with an ability to communicate and negotiate with anybody.
With his trustworthy, no nonsense approach, coupled with farming expertise and real estate knowledge, he provides rural Southland clients a service that makes him an agent of choice.
