Richard Gavigan works in farm and lifestyle property sales throughout the Tararua Region. He is based just out of Pahiatua and is aligned with Bayley’s high-profile Coast to Coast offices.
Richard brings a range of skills and experience to rural real estate. Born and raised on the family sheep and beef cattle farm at Pori, Pahiatua, he completed a Master of Agricultural Science Degree at Massey University in 1994. He spent 15 years working as an animal production specialist for the organisation now known as Meat & Wool New Zealand, then bought into a large contract shearing business based at Alfredton east of Pahiatua. After four years organising the shearing of up to 750,000 sheep each year, he achieved his long-time goal of returning to active farming. With his wife Katrina and their two young children Bridget and Joseph, he is involved in a farming equity partnership 10km from Pahiatua. The family lives on and farms the 320ha hill-country property, running sheep, beef cattle and dairy grazers.
Richard also writes articles for the well-known farming monthly ‘Country-Wide”.
Richard is well known for the high level of service and communication he provides his clients. Together with the rest of the Bayleys team, he is able to maximise his clients assets through superior marketing and customer service. The Bayleys ‘Country’ and ‘Preview' magazines are unequalled, reaching a huge national and international audience. Bayley’s website and newspaper advertising is extremely effective.
