About Steve

If anyone has a deep personal understanding of what it takes to pivot through a major life change, it’s Steve. As an Air New Zealand pilot made redundant due to Covid-19, he has recently re-invented his life. Drive, motivation and optimism are his key traits in allowing him to see the positives in an otherwise difficult situation – and motivating him through spending eight months truck driving while studying real estate at night.

You can therefore be personally assured that he empathises with the huge personal transitions and upheavals that real estate clients go through with each purchase or sale. His goal is to make this process as simple and relaxed as possible for buyers and sellers alike.

Steve was born and raised on a market garden farm in Marshland for 18 years before gaining his commercial pilot licence in 2004. Since then his roles included piloting for NZ and Australian airlines, search and rescue and his highlight – The Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Life skills from his previous roles mean that Steve keeps calm and reassuring under pressure. He believes that transparency is key when working with his clients, along with effective communication.

Steve is a devoted family man with wife Rach and two energetic boys, Ashton and Jobe, keeping him on his toes. Keen on anything involving water, adventure sports and long distance running, he enjoys helping out around his community. As a former professional lifeguarder – and elite athlete as a surf life saver – he is now happy to share his knowledge as a nipper’s coach at South Brighton Surf Club, teaching essential skills to young enthusiastic kids at the beach every summer.
