It was an absolute pleasure to work with Wendy and Dave for the sale of our Sugartree apartment. This was our first property sale and after a rocky start with another estate agent, we were sceptical about how much support we would receive. From day one, Wendy and Dave were open, honest and committed to marketing our property and doing everything they could to find the right buyer. Importantly for me, they treated me and my husband equally which had not been the case with our previous agent who believed the man was the only decision maker worth talking to! They kept us fully informed about progress without overloading us with details and were very accommodating to our time and work locations when it came down to closing the sale. It would have been easy to justify their enthusiasm based on the commission they would receive from the sale, but we felt that there was more to it than just money with Wendy and Dave. We really felt that they cared about us and the opportunities the sale of this property would bring to us and our young family.

Ours was an estate sale and so the option of holding the property for an extended period of time was not available it had to be sold.
I engaged Dave Hamlyn of Bayleys as he had a good track record of success selling apartments in our building despite it having a substantial remedial weather tightness project pending in the near future.
Dave Hamlyn met me on site and talked confidently but realistically I felt about his assessment of the value of the estate apartment. He is a qualified valuer which gives him additional authority in that respect I think.
Dave suggested an auction solution and he and Wendy Nichols took the time to come and see me and take me through the agency agreement clause by clause and answer any questions I had. There were two executors of the estate so they had to keep both of us informed throughout.
Dave and Wendy suggested several options for a marketing programme from which we chose an option – the associated photography was I think exceptional.
Dave and Wendy ran four weeks of open homes reporting to us in detail after each one with both phone calls and emails. They followed up open home attendees and qualified them as potential auction bidders. They also canvassed Bayleys existing extensive database of property investors.
On auction day we had as they had predicted two bidders and a successful auction given our circumstances. I would recommend Dave Hamlyn and Wendy Nichols if you want to sell an apartment.
I really can’t recommend Dave and Wendy highly enough. They gave us incredible help and support during a very difficult time for our family. We needed to sell a deceased estate at a time when that was the last thing we wanted to think about. They guided us through the necessary steps, took care of all the detail and kept in regular contact throughout. They achieved a great result for us in what was a very complicated sale.
